KfW loan repayment calculator: what will your KfW loan cost per month?
Choose a programme, enter the interest rate — the calculator shows the payment in the repayment-free start years, the payment afterwards and what remains open at the end of the fixed-rate period. Loan amounts per programme are prefilled.
How does a KfW repayment calculator work out the payment with repayment-free start years?
A KfW repayment calculator charges only interest on the full loan amount during the repayment-free start years; after that it spreads the loan over the remaining term with a constant payment. That is how most KfW loans run: as annuity loans with start years. The more start years, the lower the burden at the beginning — and the higher the payment afterwards. For programmes with a repayment grant, such as KfW 261, the debt falls by the grant; the payment stays the same and the loan is repaid sooner. You enter the interest rate yourself, because the KfW adjusts its terms continuously. Non-binding guidance, not a funding commitment.

KfW loan calculator: what do the repayment-free start years cost?
Repayment-free start years lower the burden at the beginning, for example during construction while you are still paying rent for your current home. The price: repayment starts later and is spread over fewer years, the payment afterwards rises, and you pay more interest over the full term. Compare one and three start years in the calculator — the difference in payment and balance is the basis for the decision.
KfW 261 repayment grant: how does it change the balance?
With KfW 261 the repayment grant depends on the efficiency level reached: EH 40 EE 10 %, EH 55 EE and EH Denkmal EE 5 %; for EH 70 EE and EH 85 EE there is none. The grant lowers the debt, not the payment — the balance at the end of the fixed-rate period is smaller and the loan is repaid sooner. The full scale including bonuses is on KfW 261 – Energy-efficient renovation.
KfW loan plus bank loan: how do I calculate both together?
A KfW loan rarely finances the whole purchase. Calculate the KfW part here and the bank part in the amortization calculator; the sum of both payments is your monthly burden. Which KfW programmes fit your project in principle is shown by the KfW funding check; the family programme is explained on KfW 300.
