KfW 300 in detail — when and how it pays off

Mind the income limit: KfW 300 is income-dependent. The taxable household income must not exceed certain limits — they rise with the number of children. Check your relevant taxable income for the application year in advance with your tax adviser.

Only for climate-friendly new builds: KfW 300 applies exclusively to climate-friendly new builds (Efficiency House 40 or better) — i.e. QNG-certified or comparably efficient properties. Existing stock and refurbishment are not eligible.

Combination with KfW 297: for owner-occupation of a QNG new build, KfW 300 (home ownership for families) and KfW 297 (climate-friendly new build) can under certain conditions be combined. The exact combination depends on the property and the income situation.

Filing: apply before the purchase contract or before construction starts — through the financing house bank. I coordinate the timeline and documentation.
