KfW 270 terms
Funding amount: up to €150m loan per project — the scope is generous. For private individuals, loan amounts from a few thousand euros are easily possible.
Application route: as with all KfW programmes — apply BEFORE the project begins, through the financing bank, not directly with the KfW.
Combination: KfW 270 can be combined with many other programmes, e.g. with KfW 261 (energy-efficient refurbishment) or with state funding. For tenant-power models, additional funding under the EEG is conceivable.
Strategic value for investors
Photovoltaics on let multi-family buildings is increasingly becoming a standard component of modern investment strategies — for several reasons:
- Lowering ancillary costs for tenants (higher tenant retention, better lettability)
- Tenant-power models as an additional revenue stream
- Contribution to the energy-efficiency class (relevant for sale and valuation)
- Combinable with KfW 261 for full refurbishments
- In combination with a heat pump: a significantly higher ESG rating for the property
